Update: A verry experienced and devoted programmer has joined the development team, he will work fulltime on the mod from now on (9 January 2007).

vBulletin Media Player for vBulletin 3.6.x

This mod is in Beta stage

Instalation instructions:
  • Upload all files from the /upload/ directory to the root of your forum, e.g. /forum/
  • Import the plugin from /import/
Upgrade instructions:
  • Upgrading from 1.0/1.1 to 1.2+
    1. Uninstall the existing product
    2. Import the new product from /import/
    3. Upload all files within /upload/ to your forum root
I will complete this mod with all your wishes when they serve a big audience. Prefereably 100.000+ users.

Please let me know of features you want, video hosts wich should be supported and bugs you find!

Suggestions so far:
  • Support for adult video hosts like pornotube.com and several others
    • Not yet implemented, being worked on.
  • Forum based media posting permissions suggested by
    • Added in version 1.1.

I guess never because i asked this only a few Postings after the first Release.

Anyway - this was a great Hack before Christ stopped coding and supporting it. This seems still to be dead and absolutely buggy with less features then before. :down:

There are better alternatives around at vb.org

Installed it and voted it for MOTM.

Tested it on a youtube video and worked floorlessly!

Well I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled and I still do not see anything while posting to add a video of any kind. No "M" or film strip or anything I have read in the thread. What is the trick here and I know I am tired but what am I missing? ACK!

The trick is simple - Wait until Jan releases the next version. Hopefully soon, but don't keep your hopes up.

It doesn't look like it's coming to be honest, which is a shame. Jan did an amazing job of his YouTube/Google video hack - I would install that except it requires seperate BB codes for each - so all my existing videos would die. Shame really...

But fingers crossed.
