Thread Prefixes
Version: 1.6.2 vBulletin Version: 3.6.10 Developer: Michael (Mystics) Koenig (www.vbulletin-germany.com) Modification-Language: English & German & French (thanks to ReadWrite - Note: Readme has not yet been translated to french.) Install-difficulty: Medium File-edits: 5 Template-edits: 10 Brief Description of the Modification This modification allows your users to choose a thread prefix for each thread. To do this you are able to select an appropriate prefix from a list beside the title while posting a new thread - for example 'Help', 'Problem', 'Search' etc. This prefix will be displayed in front of the thread title. The result will be for example: Problem - I can't find this setting Problem is the thread prefix, I can't find this setting is the title of the thread. The prefixes displayed in this list may be defined by a moderator for each of his moderated forums (Forum Tools -> Manage Thread Prefixes); of course an administrator and a super moderator is allowed to do this for every forum. Tested for version: 3.5.0 (and above). Note: If you have used the Thread Category / Prefix Hack in vBulletin 3.0.x, don't worry: all existing prefixes will be imported during the installation. You just have to re-do your thread prefix settings in your vBulletin Options. Update Product

Uninstalled since 3.6.6 - to much work after every Update. Waiting for a Product that takes the Templatechanges.

Hmm, if Mystics does not update this to use automatic template changes, I can create it (it's relatively easy to do).

I have installed the 3.6.7
Then re-applied the template changes on the templates that were reverted. Now the prefixes are not showing on FORUMDISPLAY does anyone know how to fix it ? |

yeah... this is quite annoying, some other mods work far better with version changes.. anyway, a product would be greatly appreciated instead!

I have a question I could really use some help on, as I am about to launch an update to my site with a whole new forum/site and would love to be able to take full advantage of the thread prefix system I have installed
I am using thread prefixes to warn of content that could upset people (I run a support forum) and it would be exceedingly useful to be able to filter results in a forum knowing all the results were safe to read. Members could before prefixes just manually place the prefix in the thread title, but if this system could allow them to steer clear of threads that they do not want to see, then this brings a whole new aspect to things. With thread prefixes you already get a filter box, but that searches for threads with a prefix, not threads without. Would there be any way of modifying that filter box (or putting another next to it) that would allow my members to exclude all threads for displaying that had a certain prefix? If it requires work I would be willing to pay for it, but we are non profit so it couldn't be masses Thanks so much Harley |
