Would really love a working copy of this for 3.8.x... users of my forum really hate having posts deleted/unapproved without being notified of it, and manually sending a PM out for every minor bit of moderating is too much.

Is there any way to include the original post to the MP when a moderator edits/deletes a user's post?
That would be cool. Regards. |

Delphi (or anybody else for that matter),
Is there any way to display more of the post content (or perhaps all of it) in the case of deleting or moving posts? For instance, I'm using only the 'deleted' and 'moved' pms for both threads and posts. When a post is deleted, it gives the 'Post ID' which seems to just be the first line or so many characters of the post. Is there a way I can change this so that it displays the whole post or at least more of the post? It would also be beneficial to display this info in QUOTE tags. This way the user knows exactly what is deleted or moved. In the cases of large threads where the user has posted more than once, it makes it tough for them to know exactly which post was deleted and why (besides the reason given by the moderator of course) without being able to see their post. I've taken a quick look through the uploaded php files and the individual plug-ins but it wasn't immediately clear how I could change this. Any advice? Also, another thing I noticed --which combined with the above problem could make me have to disable this product--- was the trouble it causes when soft-deleting posts after they've been soft-deleted. It may not be trouble for everybody, but it doesn't seem to mesh with our system. We let our mods and supermods soft-delete posts, but they can't perm-delete. We have an admin look over the soft-deleted posts to make sure that all deletes have a valid reason, then that admin perm deletes all of the posts. The problem is that an additional PM is sent when the admin perm deletes in a certain way. So users are getting two deletion notices for the same post. It happens when the admin looks through all soft-deleted post via UserCP, ticks the boxes for the posts, and selects 'delete posts' then selects 'perm delete'. Apparently, vB sees this as a regular delete first (hence the extra PM) then perm deletes it afterward. So, the only way that we can get around this is by clicking 'manage' for each post and selecting 'perm delete'. But, this method is inefficient because the admin must do this for each post rather than select all posts at once to perm delete. We have the option for PMs on perm delete turned off by the way. I thought you might want to know about at least the perm delete thing for future versions, but if you have any advice on how I can quote more of the post for deleted posts, I'd appreciate it. |
