Web Proxy Redirector [BETA] · **Released**: 05-14-2007

What is it?
This hack was designed to prevent users from using a web based proxy such as http://www.dontfilter.us/ to circumvent a IP address ban. It uses javascript to determine if the current domain matches the forum's domain. If it does not match, then it redirects the user to the website of your choosing. If the proxy strips the javascript code, then the forum will not be visible to the user, and a error message will be shown.

Effectiveness
This has been tested and has blocked at least 90% of all web proxies. Best of all, this hack requires no template hacks. The hack is completely self-contained in the product file.
Phrases are used for the informational messages.

I have this hack installed, however, noticed that the search engines such as Google has the description of each thread as:

"Sorry, you must have javascript enabled to view this site. Proxies are NOT allowed!...."

Is this going to be a problem with SEO?

Can anyone comment?

Holy sh*t I just checked our cached pages in Google and they are completely blank! Is this because of the problem mentioned in the post above?

OMG it's true, Google caches the java page and the redirect.

People need to uninstall this hack asap it does mess up the SEO...

I Install this hack today and functioned perfectly to block the trolls with proxy connections

, but if it breaks the SEO will have to uninstall.

i installed this and it redirects everyone and says they are using a proxy and redirects.

I have a problem where it does not detect the proxy and it allows everyone to view the site regardless of where they are from...

I lolve this hack idea but it redirrects 99% of my non proxy users including me. So do you think you can fix this or tell me some code to edit to fix it.
