This is an early build of vBXirc.
This is a beta hack, use at your own risk.
Known issues:
[X] At present time, I am not yet filtering templates for replacement urls 100%
Resolved by not having any rules to filter and or replace
[] Smilies options have not been added into the Settings or the chat template
[] There are no usergroup settings at this time.
[] This hack as not yet been installed on any live systems, but my test system worked 99% fine.
very short private beta test
[] pjirc is the only supported java module at this time
There is a way to add 1 additional template at this time.
Planned Ideas / Future Features: [] Add some sort of session tracking to show users are in the chat [] Usergroup permissions [] Smilie options
Some new things in general:
As of 3.0.0, we have moved to the plugin system and only vBulletin 3.5.0. All support for versions before 3.0.0 (vBXirc) and 3.5.0 (vBulletin) hae been discontinued.
Multiple Client support, over the next few months I will be adding more client support as I find them. If you have your own or have one you like and want it added, you can make your own called custom.cht and put it into the inc directory and select the custom option in the ACP Settings. If you want to submit a client, please email vbxirc [at] digitalkore (dot) net, It will be revied and if it can be added it will. The current template is located in inc/pjirc.cht.
I think thats it for now.
The code is atad messy atm as its early/late and I know it works correctly.
Install Instructions
1. Upload the Chat Folder to your forums directory
2. Upload / Import the Product file
3. Configure settings
4. Add a link to the navbar
Is your extension much diferent from the one using PJIRC? Maybe you and author of the other one could get together?
I took a look at jenta's Its not exactly the same, I take some extra precautions, but its a user choice at this point in time. I think my code ends up with atad cleaner username.
vBXirc was my pjirc hack for 2.0 3.0 and I was running it for 3.5 locally (minus all the fancy stuff).
vBXirc will be expanded to use other clients over time
It seems now that all of jenta's files are in the root directory, this makes things cluttered for me, mine is a chat folder.
Slight side issue, my server company won't allow me to set-up an IRC on my server. Could anyone recommend any IRC servers I could use to run pjirc so I can then use this cool hack?
Quakenet is fine, I'm using it myself for my channel, you just got to get an L in your channel so noone can take it over, lots of people on Efnet aswell.
