What I am concerned about in regards of this is: By ticking this box, do we allow the hack files themselves to be released on that site, or if we have taken the time to fully phrase the hack only the XML file will be released?

I'd suggest to always phrase Hacks, then one could just release translated Phrase XMLs - makes maintaining much easier.

I think only the translated phrases should be released there, but that is my personal opinion. Releasing the hacks there would make version management much more difficult. I also see problems with supporting the hacks, if the author don't visit the other board or is able to support in that language.

By offering a translation in german on a german board, you implicitly also suggesting that the hack itself will receive support in german, that would be my maijor concern.

cool- Will the german site also have the same option to translate their hacks form german to english here?

hmm- I don't really understand the reply... but I was just assuming that some hacks were written in german and posted there that probably never make it to vbulletin.org due to the language difference, and am hoping that the sharing of ideas/hacks goes both ways.

I think what he is trying to say is that the hacks will be located here on vB.org, and only a phrase .xml file released for a german translation of the hack there

Yes, after all we now can make use of more hackauthors regardless of their language, so german/english hacks make their way to vb.org and vice versa.

I see some hacks on that site that are different than the ones here, which is why I asked... I would hate to think I was missing out on another Super Kniffel, etc.
