We don't call this discrimination, we call this "permissions"... you gain permissions by being licensed... or why this system would have been built for...

yes, each time a non-licensed user post something in the hacks forums or anywhere else, a moderator is pointing the right process to take to be registered and licensed... ya know, the You are currently showing up as unlicensed,....

that will mean that coders have to offer support to everyone... that's good for me anyway... maybe some other coders would not like that, but hey, they can stop offering support if they think it's a loss of time!

Nice theory, I tried it - it doesn't work, because people often only click it when it's installed and working - and often the support questions are prior to this. Some people just never click install.

Maybe, but the subject is not finished, people still have views they wish to contribute.
You forgot to mention that Coders do not know who has clicked it - We used to but that feature was removed when we upgraded from vB2 to vB3

sorry, but we always see who "installed" them... look in the postbit: nexialys has installed this mod... this was not deleted, it was modified to be simplier...

Having the postbit display an icon for all unlicensed users is overkill, considering they can't download anything in the first place...

I am aware of that, however I was referring to the "coders know who clicked that button" statement implying that they know everyone who has clicked it

No - That only shows the users who have installed it and replied to the thread - The old vB2 vB.org used to show every installer in a list much like the standard "who has posted in this thread" feature
