Many times have i had discussions regarding warez. and priated software on my forums. Some people talked about how there against it, as others said they were with it.

So we should shut them down now huh?

@.lution, Nice style man, love the colors (i like dark styles) and your icons are nice also (Icon Key) TIP: Make your header a link redirecting to the forums home page. Alot of people like clicking the header to go back.

Im not going to aruge but sortware piracy is breaking the EULA

Discussion on it, and about it is probaly ok, but once you start linking to warez sites, how to get warez and other such stuff then im fairly sure you would be breaking your agrement with Jelsoft.

Freedom of speach is only valid to a point, you think that in court you could get away with telling microsoft you were only taking about how to pirate there software and sell it to others?

The only way anyone would end up in court is if they started to sell there software. No company can bring you to court for having discussions reguarding priated software. I talked to my roommate today about priated software. You think im going to go to court if the company finds out that i talked to him about it. No.

Like NZS said, you can even go as far as linking members to game cracks, as long as you don't link them to a full priated download of the software.

Hold on boy DISCUSSION and LINKING TO CRACKS is completely legal. Courts have already said like I stated before that having cracks on your site for programs is NOT ILLEGAL

Now if people start saying hey heres a link to download the software then yes that would be illegal and considered piracy.

And yes, in a EULA you cannot force someone to use a software which is in its nature a community service "ie bulletin board" and say you cannot discuss this this this this and this. It is against freedom of speech and you cannot force people to not discuss certain topics. Now you can force people to not discuss your software code, or policies of your company but general communications that do not involve your company you cannot silence in any agreement.

Freedom is speech is just that. It doesn't have a start point or finish point. You have the right to say what you want, about anyone or anything you want at any time you want. If you use that freedom of speech to slander someone and what you say is proved to be false then you can get in trouble, but, you can still say anything you want.
