Second off, this is a 1024 768 only style so dont complain when your on a 800 600, Third off, We are working on our smaller resolution style. Fourth off, how is it not unique? truly? Fifth off, I didn't waste my time I would really like to see your site. I'm not trying to get all defensive but when someones saying my work is all wasted and crap... |

Hmm. Its a bit plain colored to me. I'm more into graphics, hes more into color. I can jump at every little detail just as much as he did. We like to vary our choices rather than have one set forum skin, which is why we (really I and ashraf coding lol) are creating a smaller resolution skin*

I accidently went to my forum while typing up a long response for you, Fluous, so you would understand where I was coming from. If this one isn't as in depth, I'm sorry.
Resolutions: I use 1600x1200, 1280x1024, & 1024x768 depending on which computer I'm using at home. On 1024x768 the header takes up the entire page, you can't see any of the content. On 800x600 it actually takes up to almost 3 times of that resolution before you see any content. When designing a website, you as a designer, need to take into consideration a few things: 1] What audience am I going after? One that is on broadband, 56k, or both. You're audience is both since you aren't just focused on computer games. 2] Design for all resolutions, starting with 800x600. I guarantee you won't have as many registered members in a few months as you would if you designed your website around that resolution THEN went larger. With that said, moving onto the unique of your forums. The only unique part about the forums is the graphics. If you were to remove those graphics you would have the default vbulletin software, at least almost anyway. You never really changed any of the templates from what I can see to make it look like it's own. Everything is smushed together and looks out of place. The only thing you really did was add MORE graphics to it, which it doesn't need. Don't get me wrong though, the graphics you did ARE awesome but they are not needed in this case. I think, you are one of those people that have it stuck in their mind that fancy & overdone websites equal instant success. I still stand by what I originally said in being that you wasted your time making those graphics when all that detail wasn't needed for a forum. I once had a skin on my website that had all the graphics a person could ask for, it was swell and it lost me members/posts/time. I've choosen to go with something down to earth, simple, small, fast loading, readable, and alot of other things. I wish you the best of luck with your website but I know you won't get anywhere with in it's current state and you will have wasted your time if that does indeed happen. If you want to criticize my website then wait until I post a feedback thread in a week or two once I get done with the addition of the two other styles which will reflect what is being used now with completely different color schemes. Thanks for your time. |
