Not One Portal System can do the job ((the old vbPortal had a hack that could do the job as you can see on my life site, but that's still with the old vBP and the latest vB2 and on my test site I run the new vBP3 and vB3.0.3 that does not have this option where the coders have left this out because vBPortal is an add-on that doesn't need any modification to vB)) which is completely strange to me, because a gaming/portal/news website without a proper topic icon system is just a piece of ++++ and portals like vBadvanced project the avatar of the poster which is even more ++++.

With the new vBP I can post a news posting and attach an image, this image will then be projected on my homepage within the news article, but that means that I have to have the 250+ news topic icons on my HD and upload them as an attachment each time I make a news posting (which will populate the database quickly with at least 15 news postings a day), where all my staff (25) who are all allowed to post news have to have these icons to on there HD.

On my live site the old vBPortal has a topic manager where I manage my topics (250+ and daily growing), then when I go to my news forum and start to create a new news posting I can enter the title for that thread and directly under that I have a dropdown topic list (text) with all the 250 names of these developers and publishers and some site specific topics.

When the thread is posted and view it regular you won't see the topic icon or any other information, the thread just looks normal, but when you go to my homepage you will see that news posting with the selected topic image.

Also when you click on a news topic image on the homepage at my live site it will do a search to all postings that are posted before with that news topic, so if I select 'Microsoft' all the news related to Microsoft will be listed.

Since the new vBPortal doesn't has this option and no other portal system has this I'm not going to upgrade my live site, because I don't want to run my live site without a proper news topic system.

Maybe there is somebody who can make this, I can provide the old hacks etc and I'm even willing to pay good for your service!!

Another ???

Faruk, do you have an update on your hack and what is the status of your site?

PS.
Sorry for my bad English, i'm just a simple 'old' Dutchie
