i can't open the functions.php file in note pad

Erm you mean it only shows up in text? That is how it is supposed to be mate

Do the above steps like i said to find the line and post them here

Put them inbetween [ php ] [ /php ] Tags, just take away the spaces though

no it's only open'n in the wordpad program

Right click in the file (downloaded one) and choose OPEN WITH, then from the list select Notepad

but for some reason i installed the selfheal database and the errors are gone

Hmm well dont see why as it wasnt a database error :s But ok
