Doh! That's the trouble, if your area is covered by NTL, it's not by Telewest, and vice versa, because those two companies are connected in some way...
Hopefully NTL bring out a 2Mbps connection... |

My dad has access to 2 650Mb/second lines And before you all shout "BULLSH**", about 10-50Mb/second of each line is designated for Internet, shared between 10 computers in his work...i.e. 10mb/second for each person if they are all on...The rest is a massive network connection, but it can be adapted for internet usage if needbe @Home however, I am stuck with a measly 56k...But all you UK users? You really pay ?50/month for 1.5Mb/second? If this service in our village starts up, we will get 2mb/second for ?25 a month Satan |

No. NTL and Telewest are not connected. Althought there has been talk of a merger for years.
Quite simply they've divided up the cable areas between them, as it's not viable to two cable companies to be serving the one area. Also I'm not sure but there may be some laws either now in the past meaning only one company can cable a particular area. |
