for those scared of upgrading, give it a try yourself.
the vb license agreement says you can have another vb forum installed on your server, just as long as the general public (that is, your visitors) cannot access it.

that's what i've done. i'm installing all my hacks on my testvb forums, then i'll convert them over to my regular forums once bugs are stomped out.
Ah, so people will gradually upgrade to vB3, even the people who say they are going to stay on vB2.2.9 when that happens they will start to focus on vB3 right?
vBulletin 2 will be supported at least until vB3 is in its final release. After that we may choose to keep it going for another couple of months depending on how many people are still using it,.
