Im not putting you down...chill. I'm just saying that you really didn't understand what I wanted to do. (Not saying its your fault either, could be my lack of a good explanation beforehand). Your initial help didn't even have anything to do with the vB attachments set up. It was a small set of php code not relevent to anything existing in vB.

Good luck finding someone else to do it. I know you need this.

One more attempt at explaining what it is I would like/hope to do.
vB comes with an option in the admin area to restrict the sizein dimensions of attachments. What I would like to do is use this restriction but change its function. Rather than disallowing if a person has a image bigger than the dimensions, I want it to allow it but run a different attachment image template, then the normal one. So the only hack/modification needed is to change the current setup from blocking the dimensions I set in the admin cp, to just displaying it in a different template than an attachment lower than the size would be shown in. God, it sounds confusing even to me. LOL |

So, basically, this would require some kind of image editing module or something?

No. All I want it to do is instead of denying an attachment that is above the dimensions I choose in the admin area, I want it to display it like normal, except use a seperate attachmentimage template than the normal one. And this one would have a set width/height tag so it resizes the image in the thread.

I don't think that would be too difficult. Would you like me to email/PM you about it? You do realize that people would STILL be allowed to upload giant files, though, right? And the files would still take as long to download...they'd just be shown as smaller/fuzzier/whatever.

Yeah. See the reason is that the certain forums are "Galleries" for people to show off work. People will be posting wallpapers and as much as it is fine, it distorts the page horribly.
So, I do know about the size, and loss of clarity when resized, but its ok because it will be clickable to see it full size. I would love for you to pm me about it. =) Or even email. |

I would try, but my PHP/SQL skills are at the bottom of the barrel.
Anyway, off-topic, but I like your forums, they are really nice c-pr0mpt Maybe someone will do this soon. Since TWT stood up, maybe he will be able to do it |
