I just got it!!! More in a sec!
So I installed the fresh copy of Vb on my test server in a sub domain off my main site. I did it this way because I thought perhaps it was a dns setting or a server setting under this domain. I mentioned how I have another Vb site on the server running fine. I ruled out server settings for this but I failed to see that the hosting settings for this particular domain had changed. I never changed these settings so I am really unclear as to how they changed but this was the issue. Under this domain php was using cgi instead of apache module. This would have been fine but cgi was not configured yet seeing as I was not using it. Once I finally noticed this setting I changed it back to apache module and bam! So it took me many, many hours and all kinds of trauma and in the end it was something that took less then 30 seconds to fix. I am now trying to figure out this got changed to cgi. The only thing I can think of is that one of the updates I ran somehow changed this. It baffles me though because it did not change on the other domains and it is default on the server to use apache module and not cgi. Anyhow..finally I can edit and configure my widgets again! It has been a long time! Thanks to those of you who went into the site and tried to help me troubleshoot it. This was really the last thing I would have suspected. Now I think I deserve a glass of wine. A big glass. |

Too late for that brother. I was ready for the jump off a bridge suicide music but now I just need the relief music. I don't really care how it happened too much as long as it is working. If it happens again I will know how to fix it. I think I am going to just let it slide for now..The logs are all gone from that time period so there is not much I can do to track it down anyways.

Wow I would have never expected it to be the server, makes me feel a bit better, as I thought I overlooked something in the settings.
Glad you were able to finally figure it out. |
