You should redownload the vbulletin package from the members area (make sure you download the version you are running) and then reupload it to your site.

The facebook button is there but when I click on it nothing happens, I reuploaded the includes/facebook folder of the same version of my site vb 4.2.2

EDIT: Just created a new app and changed the secret and id and now its working

I run vB 4.2.2 PL4

I tried to follow the manual in order to setup facebook connect, precisely:

Enabling Facebook
Create new application on facebook.com (Required for each vB installation)
1. Goto: http://developers.facebook.com/apps, and login
2. Click “Create New App” (top-right)
3. Enter an appropriate App Name, click “Continue”
4. Do their Security Check, click “Submit”
5. On the page that comes up, click “Web Site” from the list on the bottom
6. In the “Site URL” input, enter the URL of the forum root for your vB installation. This should be exactly the same as your Forum URL setting in the Admin CP.
7. Click “Save Changes”
8. Make a note of the “Application ID,” and “Application Secret,” we will need these later.

When I connect to the page and click on "Add a new app" I have to face different screens from what indicated in the manual, likely because FB renewed the interface.

Is there any manual updated? All the guides found googling are outdated to 2008-2010.

Is there any one among vB developers that has taken note that everything on FB has changed?

When I click on "add a new app" the first screen asks me about iOS or Android or FB Canvas or WWW app.

If I choose WWW and I add my forum url in connect_url variable, then I start the app, my vB crashes redirected to a sort of FB link.

In maintenance/diagnostic the 3 files in includes/facebook are not suspect and original.

It's a mess.

Can anyone please help me? Thanks.

In genereal, as I've worked a lot with FB applications (mostly for Canvas and Tab apps), my advice is to avoid the auto wizzard method. When you've selected the "Web Application" and you're going to page 2 where there is a code sample, is better to stop there, and choose your newly created app (it has been created) from the drop menu "My Apps" at the top and then manually enter the settings.

I put a name inside Namespace (I thought leaving it empty was a problem).
I'll try now as you told.
1) WWW
2) I put the app name
3) click from "My apps"
4) enter forum url by "add platform / website" in settings
5) activate the app

OK: page generated a readdressing loop.
vB forum is crashed and my usual page http:/forum.egcommunity.it now is readdressed automatically to

I stopped the app and disabled the FB options disconnect.
No way to fix it...

Can you post a screenshot for your FB app page? The secret key is already hidden, if you wish erase the APP id to be totally safe.

As previously stated, new facebook apps do not work with vB4.x at the moment. I believe this will get fixed in 4.2.3 before it gets out of beta.
