[DBTech] Live Streaming Suite v3 (vB4)
Developer Last Online: Mar 2023
Live Streaming Suite lets you host a directory of your forum's Twitch.Tv or YouTube channels, complete with stream status, live previews and direct links to users' streams!
Why use Live Streaming Suite? If you run a gaming forum, and a lot of your users stream content, you know it can be hard to get good exposure on Twitch.tv or YouTube for your members' channels. This mod can help boost your members' exposure by letting them add their own channels to your directory, displaying them in a nice easy-to-browse interface with multiple features that allows viewers to find your channels easily. You can also use this mod to promote your favourite streamers by adding channels via the AdminCP. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other addons available @ www.DragonByte-Tech.com/forum Support posted at our forum is generally answered much quicker. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you like this mod please hit the button to the right ----> Please remember to click the, button to the right if you installed the mod ----> What does 'Marking As Installed' do ? * It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified by us whenever new updates are available. * For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention. * Marking a modification as installed also helps us know how many people are using our work, giving us extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications. I did a quick hotfix update to fix an issue with open_basedir (and safe_mode for older PHP installations) that would cause the stream to fail to fetch.
Also, as a general note: Do not input the full http://www.twitch.tv/<channelname> URL - it's only the <channelname> part that should be added. Anything else and it will fail to fetch the channel data. I may look into automatically stripping this data for a future version Fillip |

It's nice, but I know the question will be asked,so I'll ask it now..Why are they only linking to the channels? And not embedding..

Because embedding does not give easy access to following & subscribing to the channel, AFAIK
Embedding would be doing the channel owner(s) a disservice in that regard. Fillip |

Remote/embedded views are shown ads as well, so its not really a disservice. |

But doing so will inconvenience the admins by forcing them to sign up for that program
For the time being (and especially for a mod coded from scratch in ~8 hours), direct linking is IMO a better alternative to embedding. Fillip |

Nice Mod! Many people really wanted something like this.
1. Problem: I just can add 1 new Channel-ID with a Channel Owner. If i want to add more Channeli-IDs with the same Owner it replaces the previous Channel-ID. Am i the only one with this problem? But great Mod anyway. Cheers, |

That is intended behaviour. However, you can add channels with no owners via the AdminCP - an owner is not required

Thanks for your answer. There is another thing:
Iam not exactly sure in what case this happend but its the secound time: If i create a channel and want to edit it later on but > all fields are empty (pink). Now if i want to delete this Channel (pink) the following error occured: PHP Code:
urbanzone > urbanzone%E2%80%8E I re-installed the whole product and it works fine again but that is a strange behaviour. I guess not intended. Thanks for support, Cheers, |

Hmm, i got the same problem again with the first entry. Some Channel-Links adding stuff like %E2%80%8E again.
Any solution for this? |
