PHP Nuke is a great piece of software
vB is a great piece of software

Has anyone out there begun to think on how to integrate the two into one package?

not necessairly but possible. more important is tying in the user table. can the vb db and the nuke db be merged. none of the tables have the same name. etc...

Yes what i would like to see is the members be able to login with their username and password from VB so that way they would not have to have different usernames and passwords.

PHP-nuke is pretty good (patched up version of That-ware)

yet I always had problems with the header (the whole styles thing is buggy)

The best thing is still to make your own backend

Just so you know, I've been running a modified PHPSlash integrated into Vbulletin (sorta -- it works for the most part) over at http://www.highervoltage.net/

Whenever a new article is create, an associated thread is created in my news forum, so when someone clicks on an article page, they can go directly to the thread for that particular article and start making comments.

i am not sure what all these php news scripts can do, but is it possible to have a php news script posting news across several domain sites on the same server ? and different servers ?

the reason i ask is my vb is the forum for several of my domain sites related to anime. it would be nice to define categories (site domains) to post news... is that possible...?

i have 10 sites excluding the forum and another 8 in the works...

Since the data is stored from within a mysql database, it'd be easy to have different sites pull the data from the database.

Different servers -- yes.. but you'd have to consider the performance aspect.

bascily you just install vbulletin in the same folder as php nuke
then in the following files:
index.php
search.php
forumdisplay.php
and so on...
just don't put it in newthreads.php and newreply.php,because those files seem to allready contain header information.
put
if(!isset($mainfile)) { include("mainfile.php3"); }
include("config.php3");
include("header.php3");

below the first line,then put
include("footer.php3"); just before the last line

that's just doing it quickly....
if anyone else takes the time to put it in all vbulletin pages without errors please post here

Is there a windows version available? I searched the site, and could not find one. I'm uploading via a computer that has win 98 to a cobalt raq3 server. Or are there any other programs like this one, that don't require a linux OS?

Thanks in advance

well php-nuke hasn't been tested on windows yet I think.But since it requires PHP and mySQL it should probably work.
