No, my apologies for not clarifying. The user accounts remain in-tact, and therefore can be assigned working passwords through the standard "Forgot Password" feature in vBulletin which resets the password via email. If you use the Janrain Engage plugin and decide at a later time to disable or uninstall it you should create a sticky post or email users notifying them that they will need to go through this process to be able to log in.

nice idea, but the part where you may have to pay
why not just use openID for the logins, it's already around? |

I use this on my site, for the Wordpress blog section.
If It could get real email instead of proxy email it would make things easy. I run Vbulletin 3.7 with no problems as do many people. Making a plug-in for that would be amazing! It is real simple they make money if you sign-up for their plans, they are a business the free plans work great for small sites. Larger sites may pay for the service, but as simple and easy as this site is to use I don't see a downside. These are some tips for members who are curious about Janrain in general. I don't have the vbulletin plug-in installed but desperately want a 3.7 version. This was the #1 requested Plug-in to janrain by a 100 to 1 margin from website owners. Positives:
