I uploaded the theme in FTP, then went to the admincp to make that theme work, the forum asked me if I wanted to overwrite something, I said OK, and that is when the forum went down. The only other place I uploaded anything, was in my FTP to the cpstyles folder when I uploaded the theme. I don't remember exactly what it asked me if I wanted to overwrite, but apparently I should have said no.

Ok, check the permission on the file you uploaded via FTP. If the permission and owner is correct, then you may need to re-upload the default style, but before doing that, I would submit a support ticket at Vbulletin.com. They will probably tell you to re-upload all non image files and see it that fixes the problem, but I would rather them tell you to do that. I hope it is a permissions issue and now feel pretty sure it is. I can visit your site and call up an image like this:
http://www.mjworldcry.com/board/images/misc/tag.png So, things seem to be in place. I am hoping it is a permission or owner issue on the new file. My folder is set to 0755. Maybe that is the issue. Also, when you check the owner of the folder, make sure it is the same as the web user. In many cases it is the 'nobody' account. So, if it was being owned by the 'root' account, then the the folder information could not be seen by anyone. it must be owned by the web user account. (I hope that is clear.) |

Yes. I can log in no problems.
--------------- Added [DATE]1301463017[/DATE] at [TIME]1301463017[/TIME] --------------- Ok I don't qualify for ticket support any longer. pffft - I have to upgrade to suite or whatever. Anyway they did however help me and my forum is back up and running. I wanted to share the solution in case anyone else ever has this problem. THIS is what I had to do. You should reupload your MATER STYLE using tools.php. Follow these steps. 1) Upload tools.php from your "do_not_upload" folder. This should go into your admincp directory. 2) Load this in your browser by going to: yourforums/admincp/tools.php 3) Enter your customer ID. 4) Click on Style. 5) Delete tools.php from your server. 6) See if you can see your default style now. Yes it worked. Also thank you for doing your best help me today, it was appreciated. I am grateful for your help. TY ♥ |
