EDIT- I also have to say I was a little annoyed with your "Random Question" when registering... I got "Who directed Avatar?" - now granted I know it was the biggest grossing movie ever and you are a movie fan site, but I for one had no idea who directed, stared, or acted in it- just not details I ever cared to learn... and even if it was a movie that I knew who directed, like ET, I probably would spell the name wrong... It's just a big turn off if you don't know the answer and need to Google it- you really need members at the moment- would remove ANY impediments to joining until you absolutely have to. EDIT2- Usually in forums on the lower right after all the posts in a thread is a drop down box to link you back to the forum you were just viewing. On your site the default link seems go be somewhere else? At quick glance I couldn't find a link back to the forum at all in the box it seemed. I see, what's missing is the "Go" button, it's a real annoyance to have to scroll past every letter in the alphabet, twice, to get to most forums in that box. |

Hey. Thankyou for your comments.
Re. the actors/actresses forums... it took me SUCH a long time to add each forum the way that I have that I really don't want to remove all the forums again and then have to add them again at a later date. Maybe if I just changed the size of the font, because I do agree it is too small. I did originally have each forum viewable but I figured once more actors are added it's going to take people too long to scroll down the page looking for the actor they want. Does that make sense? This way it takes up less room, yknow. OK I'll remove the random question. The only reason I had it there is cause I dont want loads of spam bots signing up, which has been a real issue with past forums Ive owned. OK I've changed the question to 'What Is 1 + 1?' I think most people can get that right. Regarding your 3rd point... Im sorry but I dont know what you mean. Maybe because I never use this feature so Ive never noticed it before. If something is missing I can only blame the skin, cause as far as I know I havent removed any of the default features. Your comments have been very helpful. Thankyou. |

The 3rd point- If you scroll down the window you're reading right now, a couple of inches below the "Quick Reply" box on the right it says (on vBulletin.org) Forum Jump and in the box is Community Reviews and a "Go" button... Your forum lacks the "Go" button, probably a skin issue, but it means I can't get back to the forum by simply clicking "Go" - I have to go to the drop down box and go back to the forum name for the page to actually change.

Oh yeh I see what you mean.
There is a Quick Navigation drop down box above the quick reply box on the forum. Is this not the same as the Forum Jump? |

There is but it's missing the "go" button, so to use it I have to click on it, then scroll all the way through it, then click on the forum name, and only then does it work... Usually I'd just click on "Go" because the forum I was viewing is already pre-selected.

Ooh I see. Gotcha.
I'm afraid I don't think there's anything I can do about that unless the person who created the skin updates it. I would just change the skin but this is the only one I've found which I actually like. Rubbish. |

another thing, this may be an error in vB 4 and not your specific forum but I've never noticed it before... If I browse with IE8 and don't use compatibility view the postbits are messed up- the text of the post is in a separate box below the side-bar of the post itself. Hard to explain but suffice to say it looks very bad to someone not using compatibility view on IE8.

Hmmm... how can I know whether this is a fault with vB or with my forum?
I've just had a quick look using IE and it looks absolutely fine to me... but maybe I'm using compatibility view... |

You probably are... IE setup asks you if you want to use them during first use and they recommend "Yes" so it's not that big a deal, most people I'd guess use it. You could just find another VB 4 forum and turn off compatibility view (there is an icon to the right of the URL to turn it on/off) and see if posts look right... might just be something I never noticed/tried before.

I've taken your advice about the actor/actresses forums and just merged them all into one forum.
I also checked IE not using compatibility view and I see what you mean. I can only hope that anyone using IE who visits the forum has compatibility view turned on. |
