The Arcive of Official vBulletin Modifications Site.It is not a VB3 engine, just a parsed copy! |

I kind of agree. Even though it is no longer supported any more, people should still be able to use said modifications, unless the author explicitly stated that he wants otherwise. It's basically trashing unnecessary things. Surely official support is no longer there, but that does not mean there won't be "unofficial" support for the mods (e.g. members helping each other here, those who have old versions of vB still).

I think at some point, you got to let things go technologically. 2.x might still be used, but at some point, I couldn't personally justify keeping files around for software that isn't that widely used.

I could understand that line of thinking if you had to support the old mods, but that isn't the case here. It makes no one's job harder to allow these downloads.

To a degree, it means more server space used and a ton of unsupported modifications. Think about all the developers who've moved on to vB 4 and are no longer developing for the 3.x series. Imagine how little support would actually be available there. Not to mention, vB 2 isn't exactly being patched anymore. That means that many more mods with that many more security holes. A potential, if small, nightmare.
