If you like me you really have to take your forum/site offline. To make it worse the vbulletin default forum/site closed screen is just too much or not how you would like to have it. With this mod you can easily change the way you forum/site looks like when your updating or just working on maintenance.
Installation:
Installed the product
Edit the template zClosed to your liking
Order a pizza and bring it to me
The template zClosed should be at the bottom of you list of templates or atleast near to the bottom.
The template zClosed is a basic vb4 template but you can change it however you would want to see it.
This should work with no problem on any vb4 forum. So far I have tested it up all the way to Gold PL1 personally.
This was originally done by Paul M and was mainly updated and will now be supported by me with his permission.
Actually no it can't. Becuase say you want to remove the header and footer and just want an image shown. This is what I used to build my vb4 site without anyone knowning that the sit was going to be using vb4. May want to test all the capabilities first.
Could you please supply more information on what we have to do to insert the image, where is the option to disable the board specifically so that the image shows up?
I don't want to hijack the guy's post here, so this is all I can say here.. I hope you'd understand (If theres a need I could post in another thread later)
You can insert a smiple html code for img in the the box where you put in the reason for closing the board (the only box under Vbulletin Options >> Close Board)
or you can use redirect link to another page/site in the same box
Did you get permission from the original author to copy and release his code ?
If you fully read teh firt post you would of seen where I did get permission to do this. I think he would of said something by now if I didn't sense he's an admin on here.
If you would only read the credits at the top by the current coder:
"This was originally done by Paul M and was mainly updated and will now be supported by me with his permission."
so if we put the image html into the description, then isnt this already implemented into vbulletin? to close your board? if yes, what does this product do then?
What it does is instead of giving you just a portion of a page to edit when your site is closed it will give you an entire page to cusomized. Basically when your site is closed you can hide everything from the visitor. For example a completely blank page, or just a page with an image on it. Remove header and footer. You have complete control on what is shown to anyone who visits your site when its closed.
The default vb feature only gives you the center of a page to edit with the header and footer and style all visibile.
I do this becuase alot of visitors still try to go into their accounts and make changes or just still try to navigate teh site in some way. Since you able to change the entire page that they see you can stop them from doing or seeing anything.
