I have a working code but it shows in the template hook footer_links.
By Google's recommendations it should show just above the closing </body> tag.

I have always put this in the template ad_footer_end which happens to be inserted right above the div at the end of the footer. Have you tried just using that hook? I'm not sure it will work, but:

Or, I think you can insert it right above the copyright, so do a str_replace on "<div id="footer_copyright"" and insert your code above it (or above the cron stuff right below the copyright).

When something doesn't work, you can't just post the code - you NEED to tell us the hook location also. It could be that the code is fine, but you are using a hook that is too late, or sometimes too early, to do what you want.

And I don't get paid a thing - the mods are volunteers on this site.

It would be hard to build a big-board w/o Google Analytics. I forget if I've got it manually in the footer template or if it's plugged in from Google AdManager.
