BlogMail mod for Wordpress by doa24uk
This is similar to my Blogmail mod for Blogger which does the same thing but for Blogger & Blogger.com Blogs.

This Mod will automatically create a new Blog post on any self-hosted Wordpress (NOT wordpress.com) blog directly & automatically when a new forum topic is created.
Users can select which forums to apply this to & it also works with multiple forums.
Installation Instructions - Please see attached text file.

What do you mean with "direct"? Each one will have its own separate comments, unfortunately...
Yes
Thanks for answering his queries
Just to clarify though, the mod sends an email which is then converted into a WP post (blog entry).
You can include hyperlinks to anywhere within that email (blog post) therefore you can have a line that says "This is part of a discussion on Board X. To join in the discussion, click here"
That will then link directly back to the original topic ... I've also included a code example in the mod comments of how to acheive this

very good idea. Thanks for that and "installed".
But I got some problems to get this working.
First, in step 1 what do i take for "Server - mail.yoursite.com"?
I created an email adress user1@oneofmysites.de and if want to setup a new adress in outlook or what ever i use the servername of my provider
pop.myprovider.de or imap.myprovider.de or smtp.myprovider.de.
Which one should I enter?
And Second, no mail ist send to the created mail account of the user from Step 1. I justed checked it via webmail. Or who long does it take until the email ist send? I just created a thread, waited for a few seconds and deleted it.
And the plugin should starting to work when I adjust these both lines:
case 'XX':
and
$to = "myrandomtext@yoursite.com";
isn't it?
Would be very nice, if you could give me a hint, getting this to work.
With who I have to sleep to get a hint?
Just joking!
Would be kind if you could help, cause I love the idea of your hack and prepared everything.
It just doesn't work
Maybe you guys who are saying this does not work could provide some information or more details.
You are essentially taking your car to the garage and telling the mechanic something is wrong, good luck guessing what.
