I did this but it didn't work. They are still showing up in my new posts. NAVBAR only had it listed once.

This is what I added to mine: &exclude=118,249,120,101,103,119,250,260,29 6

And if you hover over the link you are clicking on (that doesn't work), is that appended to the end? If not, you need to find that link and modify it. If you have a custom style, it may be that the link is in another template. Do a Search in Templates for it.

This plugin-guide provides an easy method for excluding every forum you like.

It excludes the whole forum, so if rss-feeds (announcements or threads) are mixed with user-posts, any user-post will be excluded from the newpost-summary too.

That will also blindly ignore the designated forums when doing an explicit 'Search' function.

To get around that, try a plugin like this...
