Hmmm, i am not really familiar with the UK newspapers, but isn['t that 1 of the tabloits, not really 1 of the more reliable sources of news?
Also some things feel really wrong about this: - Was this a ranking for European countries as the title indicates? If so why are Canada & South Africa doing in the list? If not, then i doubt if the list is correct. Find it hard to believe that countries like USA, many south American & African countries, and many other places in the world should not have been listed higher. - What is considered a violent crime? Looking at the numbers it seems that homicide is counted seperatly? To me this looks like a tabloit wanting to shock and manipulated the numbers until they had what they wanted: a headline that their own country is the most violent. |

The agenda is certainly there and sure enough so are the motives. Those stats are not to be taken seriously, it's a joke. Manipulated comes to mind. What people will do to retain a hold for power to control the country.
I agree, Prisons are not the solution. Murderers should receive a bullet in the head or some kind of death penalty. Rapists should be thrown into a room full of sexual deprived criminals and have a taste of their own medicine. And for the rest, and I'm a true believer of this is we need to start looking at fusion energy for an unlimited energy source for the rest of the prisoners to ship them to the moon. One way. You just cannot take those stats seriously. I thought maybe it was april 1st and remembered we already had that thread. |

Have you lost your minds? My state in the US alone has close to a 13% unemployment rate and besides think of how much crime goes unreported in every country, I would think the US has more crime problems and basing it on per 100,000 is not feasible, what is the population difference in proportional terms eh? Personally, many of you fellow US'ers out here might think me silly but I would rather move to the UK then stay here in the states, purely IMO.

I live in britain and things are as bad as they look.
Waste of time hiding your heads in the sand and saying that the stats are made up.Infact i would say the stats are showing a lower percentage than we actually are. Crime in this country is running amok and why ? Because when they are caught all they basically get is a slap on the wrist.Mass immigration is bringing crime with it and the kids today just run amok on the streets in little street posse`s |

What has been shown is that the stats as given are extremely misleading, and seem also to have been massaged in their presentation by the compilers, the Tories, to give a much worse picture than it really is. 2) You're not the only one who knows Britain. 3) Crime in Britain is nowhere near as bad overall as in South Africa (a specific comparison that that report misleadingly made). Nor is it as bad as in much of the Balkans, or Russia, or a whole lot of other places. 4) Mass immigration, so-called, is not responsible for the main body of crime in Britain. That's a cheap excuse and attack without merit. |

Anyway another link for the Human rights act : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/news...cy-rights.html It confuses me at times as most killers use the human rights act yet shoud`nt they be automatically excluded from it ?? |
