Demo of Magento: http://demo.magentocommerce.com/

Looks slick, but got me concerned when asked, Are you prepared to spend a minimum of $10,000 per year for an annual subscription to the Magento Enterprise edition? *

Enterprise Edition is new, and it's aimed at major / serious businesses. If you're making a couple million a year in sales, $10,000 ($8,900 is the current price) is a very small price to pay for a supported, well written commerce system.

Magento community edition or whatever is still under an open source license.

I wondered where my paypal balance went

There are some great packages nowdays out there, but along of them take a percentage of your sales and charge a fee each month

Despite only having a few items to sell i've decided to opt out of a full scale e commerce store and just do some extra html pages with paypal buttons. the cheap option but with sales averaging ?300 to ?400, its pointless spending ?30-?40 everytime i get a sale, perhaps when the company makes enough money, that i don't need to worry about anything then i'll be able to go full steam ahead, in the meantime its html for me

i'll keep my eyes still open if anyone knows of a decent free, not too complicated e-store

Oh well i decided to bite the bullet and have a bash installing OS Commerce, and i'm impressed so far

I thought all went well until i tried to add UK VAT to the final total

I just can't do it

This is what i have at the moment

(Excuse the deleted parts as its keeping with the forum Rules of self promotion)

This is what i have in my os comerce admin panel

Zones

Tax zone = UK
Code = BG

Tax Zone

UK

Tax Classes

Taxable Goods

Tax Rates
Priority =1
Tax Class = Taxable goods
Zone = UK
Tax Rate = 15%

Is there any OS commerce Buffs here ??
Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong??

I've added to the Os Commerce Support forum, but no reply as yet

Thanks in advance :up:

**********EDIT**************

Just got it working

It was a matter of just making sure the tax zones and stuff where in the right place, Bit of a nightmare if you've never used it before
