Trustworthiness, is a give and take thing. No one who is always on the take for themselves and never gives back deserves a trustworthy title.
If you work and give your labor, you should be payed, given back to. If you lend a favor you should feel it coming back to you... at least in the value of respect or returning the favor. Really, I think its the basic fundamental break down. The core philosophy (give and take with respect) that can be applied to almost any relationship that deals with trustworthiness. JMO. Even most crimes are committed for purely selfish reasons, take take take with a lack of respect or regard for the ones being effected. With no intentions on ever giving back. Oooh and you are only ever as good as your word. *thanks Shelley for priceless flowers* |

I prefer the earning of respect and trust, personally. I don't know many people and many people do not know me, personally. Those who do know me personally generally trust me (and some trust me waaayyy too much). I don't request it, nor do I demand it. I am human and am prone to making mistakes, however, I will own up to my mistakes when made.
To answer the question, I consider myself trustworthy - although, I do know myself and have known myself for many, many years. I keep to my word that if I say I will do something, I will do it. If for some reason, I cannot, I will admit that I cannot do it and rescind but I will not promise anything unless I am 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt certain I can meet what I promise. |

I feel I'm trustworthy...my word is my bond, like Shelley said.
However, I'm trusting to a fault...I'll trust you until you give me a reason not to, and if you do something to break my trust, it takes a lot of work to earn it back. How's that saying go...fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me...? |
