I think you should definitely work on the presence of your website before anything. The design is indeed a tad hard to look at. There are a load of useful articles as well as talented designers that can help you along the journey.

Colors colors colors..
There is no real structure to easily follow with the eyes. There's a light purple color, a bright (really bright) purple color, all black text and black lines.. Nothing stands out, nothing grabs any attention.. it's all jumbled together in one huge purple lump. I'm not bagging on purple, and if that's your color then go for it.. but it would work better as an accent color more than anything. Not so BLAHHHHH in your face, just really subtle. Take a look over at http://www.colourlovers.com/. Find a nice color pallet that you like and base your style off of that.. the two tone, and the fact that the colors do not go together well at all are going to drive your visitors away.. and fast! |

the colors are pretty harsh, I would find a different style
also, you should fix your title tag.. you can remove the "powered by vb" in the title by searching your phrases it'll help with your SEO tremendously cheers |
