I think I am in a similar position to pcremedy in that one of my members has sent me the following email:

Personally I prefer the 'subscribe' system - still, if a member is so keen that they want to see everything all the time, is there a way I can satisfy that want? TIA Phil

A user is only subscribed to the thread if they post in it, and they have subscribing automatically set in the User CP.
