I'd recommend something like the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 for the processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115017

2gb RAM should be fine, too.

That is partially correct. A 32-bit OS can address 4GiB of memory. Because of memory in graphics cards and other things, the readable amount of RAM is usually in the ballpark of 3-3.5GiB in a 32-bit OS.

Call me old fashion, I always thought that it was the person in front of the computer what really matters...

I know you're trying to cheer him up, but I don't like to lie either LOL

Since there was a time that I used to repair computers as hobby, ppl came to ask me for a good model, I never saw the relation between a good computer and talented work...

I've been there since the Intel 8086

NVIDIA pwnZ! I totally agree. I just don't think I need it, I don't game and animated imagery requiring a lot of mem I just don't do too much since it's not good for web applications it seems.

Never game, so don't need all that.

I'll take any instructions you'd like to give the past 15 years behind one probably haven't done me justice. lol.

I think I probably didn't get the best pc, but I didn't care, the only thing I wanted that I didn't get was Dell Media Direct again, as I loved that, or that thing that they have on the new desktops where they put the Music Files you are listening to on this small like 2.5 inch window so you can sift through them fast and switch tracks, with like album info and stuff. Soo... cool, but I didn't want to spend a grand just for that.

-------------------------------------------------------------

OH YEAH!

I didn't want Vista either and I have both installation discs for Win XP SP 1 and SP 2, should I upload another OS, and then delete Vista? Increasing my usable RAM, or since I kept Vista basic and it only uses 512 MB RAM "they say" should I just deal with it?

The dell people say..."oh no, you shouldn't do that", yet if you look on there site they are offering it for an extra $100 bucks as a bonus OS. So why can't I do it, if I know how? and yes I know how.
