Absolutely, Paul.
I would have to estimate that less (hopefully far less) than 10% have ANY problems. You could do a simple search to get some statistics... count all the complaint threads, then count all of the service request threads. Many support forums have a similar problem where it seems like the product is overwhelmingly problematic, when in reality, as you stated, only the people with problems go to the support forums to complain about it. |

I'm not sure there is any excuse for taking someone's money, spending it and then not being able to deliver a product or return the money.

As far as his taking too many project and then not doing the job, for starters 5 months is a long time to finish them or an extremely long time to refund the money. I am sure a lot of people have good transactions in service request. The fact is you only need one bad transaction to spoil a good reputation and thats valid not just in software but also in hardware and services. |

No ace, I wasn't directing that at you... just a general observation.
I've seen many complaint threads here and on SitePoint where it's completely one-sided until the other person shows up and reveals a boatload of contradicting evidence. In many cases, you can't tell who is lieing and who is being honest. I'm not defending him... just bringing up the possibility that he might not be a crook. I have no doubts about what you have posted and I'm in no way calling you a liar. I'm sorry if I made you feel that way. Yes, 5 months is a long time (especially for a medium-sized hack based on the price). He should have no problem finishing or refunding by then. But, only he knows what what going on in his head, which is what I'd like to hear. I'm actually surprised he hasn't found (replied) to this thread yet... he has posted a few threads since and even more replies. Well, I'm sure he will soon enough... otherwise, keep us posted! |

eXtremeTim (Tim Yarbrough) has been online today both here and his own forums... has anyone tried to bring this thread to his attention?

I am still working to get this resolved. I didnt just disappear for no reason I have stated many times about the fact that my apartment got broken into and robbed. So I had no pc for a while. I am still dealing with issues related to being robbed back in june since I had my check book stolen and there were quite a few bad check written on the account totalling about 20-25k. I have been working hard including spending time downtown under arrest for suspected check fraud. It has been a very time consuming battle to be fighting. I am just now managing to get above the water. After having to cover a good deal of the money and replacing all my computer equipment that was damaged just so I could get back to work. I will get him the money the only problem is right now I dont have the money since my bank account was wiped out and I had to cover almost 10k on client projects refunded 15k out of my bank no longer to fall back on. $5k in computer equipment damaged and I ended up having to cover about 5k of the bad check so far becuase I had no way to prove that i didnt write them.
Most of you know me and know I would never willingly take money and not complete the work. I will have this resolved within 10-14 days since I have quite a bit of work contracted out with a timeframe of 7-10 days left for completion. Now i dont feel my finacial situation cuased by that event was anybodies business besides mine. But I feel I have no choice but to disclose it right now. |

well tim, you made it this way for yourself and myself. For last 1 month+ you know very well i sent you a lot of emails and pm's from your own site about this. You didn't reply to any one of them. And since you were here and on your site regularly, there is only one thing i could or can decipher from that.
Anyway for the rest tim contacted me on msn today and has said that he will pay back my money within 14 days and that he will stick to it this time. For me 14 more days is not a problem if he pays, when i have waited for 5 months. The issue is not resolved yet although i hope it will be in 14 days. I will inform you on how this goes. |

Tim, what country do you live in? if the USA, you're story doesn't add up. you are NOT responsible for any funds lost due to criminal acts done by others. you either made the check purchases or you did not. authorities do not just arrest and CONVICT anyone on a first time offense for the crimes you say happened. if you spent time in jail, you're still not telling us the whole story. in either case, this is none of our business unless you want to share further, but you're story just doesn't add up. these stories never do though... form scammers. just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt.

Isn't the date and time stored with every check cashed? If so couldn't you tell the cops to check if the fraudulent checks were cashed after the date your apartment got broken in to? If they were then you should be able to put up a fight. If you were taken to court before about fraudulent checks (not sure if they do that) they can't use that against you now (if I'm not mistaken).
