The point is to reward people for their actual behavior, I think, and not to encourage people to act a certain way to earn a title.

i don't personally care about my title... i'd like my old "member" tag to be placed.. or let me personalise mine... i hate to be a Advanced Coder!

I can't find that post. I think it was by either Revan or boofo. He had it in php format and it showed that add-ons and something else were excluded from counting. I think ti was pre vB 3.5.x though.

Coder: 1 Code Hack or Plugin, and 10 Installs

Advanced Coder: 10 Code Hacks or Plugins, and 300 Installs

Master Coder: 20 Code Hacks or Plugins, and 1000 Installs

Caveat: these numbers are guesstimates

Coder user titles don't really mean anything, especially given the disparity between number of downloads and number of installs, even after accounting for hack updates, curiosity, etcetera.

The counterargument may be that everyone is in the same boat, so it's still some type of 'across the board' measure, but it isn't accurate. Same goes for HotM, but that's another thread.
