I have a PSP with 1gb memory card, and every game thats been released. Im not a gamer but i had to have this because i was going on holiday and the journey was long.
Its good if you like games, also easy to download videos and music into. Ipod mustnt be that good its only basically an MP3 player right ? Atleast we can do the same on a PSP as well as play games. |

Why drive a 5 litre engine car when a 1.4 litre engine car will do the same journey in roughly the same time on speed-restricted roads whilst being more economical? The answer? They suit an individuals wants and needs... The PSP is a gaming console, the iPod is not and was not intended to be - You can buy phones with MP3 playing capabilities and some Video capabilities - They perform multi-functions for people who don't require specific items - However, I cannot hook up my phone to my in-car sound system and play music from it in my car... Nor can I with a PSP (at this present time in the UK, at least)... Just because you prefer to have a smaller storage capacity and play Games on your PSP, doesn't mean the iPod "isn't as good" because it "only plays Music" - It was designed initially for music, has recently expanded to Video, and like I pointed out, can be used for large file-transferal between machines where a network connection is not possible... Exactly, also, the chances of someone listening to all of the 20,000+ songs they put on their ipod are slim to none. Quote:
Your comparison was not to great chris lol! What we're saying is that not only can a psp do the same things an ipod can, but it can do it just as good if not better. For example, videos show way better on a psp. |

Not really - If someone travels, and doesn't get alot of oppurtunity to login to their computer and listen to their .mp3s on their machine, 20,000 songs may be of use to them to get variety... There could be other practical uses, such as using it to hook into a Club's sound system if you are a DJ, or like previously stated mass-file storage and transferral... I understand you can't see the idea behind an iPod but don't knock it just because you like the PSP - I can see the benefits in both, and while I don't own a PSP it doesn't mean I wouldn't like to own one for gaming... A wider video doesn't mean better if the PSP's version has to stretch to fit the rest of the screen - It will pixelate and lose quality that way... Chris |

i hate to see all these dumb comparaisons... here are some details that a iPod can do all day long, that PSP will never be able to:
iDJ Mixing Console for iPod -- DJs can now make a full party only with 2 ipods... http://www.numark.com/products/produ...overview&n=132 Apple iPod Camera Connector -- now plug your digital camera in your iPod and take millions of photos http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...plm=M9861G%2FA FM Transmitter with LCD for iPod. -- direct fm radio in your ipod! http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/itriplcd/ Laser Pointer and Flashlight for your iPod or iPod mini - for teachers and scientists! http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/ibeams/ and i mostly forgot the legendary iPod SOCK: ![]() |

What you're saying is right as far as the variety, i can see where you're comming from. However, i just can't see how someone would even be able to find 20,000+ songs they'd like to have. Quote:
That is nice indeed lol. I like that. |

![]() I might have to get one just to point the laser at people's eyes ![]() I think I found another thing the PSP can't do - Sort songs into playlists, and playlists by artist, genre etc... Chris |

I tend to agree with Chris, go for the PSP if you are into gaming, otherwise get the ipod or some other mp3 player with a lot of space.
I'm planning on getting the PSP myself, and a few extra memory cards. I don't have a large collection of mp3's compared to other people I know, nor do I need them all on one player at the same time. I also like the PSP because I can play my old games on it by dumping the ROMs and playing them via emulation on the PSP. I will pick up the GTA game that is out but I don't plan on buying any movies cause I wouldn't enjoy them on such a small screen. ![]() |
