I like the new layout. It makes it easier for me to avoid code hacks and only check them rarely so that I use one only if I think it's REALLY useful

As stated, there will be more organization when the database functionality is put into place. It is coming as soon as possible. I would rather it get done correctly the first time instead of possibly destroying resources on the site.
I don't think anyone thought there would be almost 600 addons released for 3.5 in such a short period of time. This tells me the vBulletin developers have headed in the right direction with the classes, data managers and plugins. 600 addons, is about half of all those released for the 3.0.X series in over a year. And here we are just a few months into the release of 3.5.X. It is more than 1/3 of the total addons for the 2.X series over three years of releases. This makes the database front-end all that more important. Forums are good for discussions but not very good for organizing a lot of resources. What happens in a year when there are a thousand plugins and even more addons? This site will be unbearable to manage and the number of forums will be out of control. Add to this future versions and new Jelsoft products which will have plugins and hacks of their own and soon no one will be able to find anything. Bear with the staff a while longer and they will provide something better than anything Invisionize could dream up. |
