You can use it for ordinary ads like adsense, banner rotations, or any content at all as well as using it to manage ads outside your forum too.
If you are using autoinsertion and were using vB Ad Management before version 4.00, you will need to remove your old template edits or advertisements will appear multiple times. Just reverse the old instructions below.

Admin Login - in the forums, thread tools did not work, when i disabled
the script, everything works again, whats the point in keeping it
active if other things do not work?

i'm looking forward to this script going back online...i might have to use something else for advertisment management though for the time being. do you have any suggestions?
When I upgraded from 3.14 to 4, it affected my entire site, the dreaded all "white pages". I had to get back into AdminCP to remove the upgrade and site worked again.
vB Ad Management has been updated from v4.00 to v4.01 and is now available to download. This version fixes various bugs from the previous version and also adds this charming feature: AJAX advertisement display. Increase your impressions and revenue by setting your advertisements to periodically refresh without a user loading a new page.
This is a very bad idea: I believe you'll find that this violates the AdSense ToS and very probably other publishing agreements, or at least any that include a pay-per-impression component. What that will do is artificially inflate the number of page impressions and could very well get you banned by AdSense and others.

That's as may be, but that doesn't mean it is a bad idea. I tested it by using it to rotate though some highlighted threads, no problem there. If you are not allowed to use it, don't.
Edit: In earlier versions I did include some warnings about violating terms of service but I no longer do that. It's not my responsibility to check up on what your terms of service allow.
