[DBTech] Forum Live Feed & User Wall v1 (vB4) [AJAX]
Developer Last Online: Mar 2023
Forum Live Feed & User Wall lets you see a continuously updated feed of activities on the forum, with a powerful set of customisation options for sources of information.
Uses If you've wished for a Facebook-like feed for your forum, this mod is for you. This mod adds 2 distinct features to your site. First a live feed showing actions performed by everyone on the forum, from new threads and posts to things like new avatars or signatures, your members can customise their feed and keep up to date with everything that's going on, right as it happens. Secondly every user also has their own wall that displays what they have been up to. This lets users see what their friends have been doing and join in! With advanced privacy configuration options and configurable preview options for each content type, this mod compliments other modifications like InfoPanels and produces a more detailed and verbose feed of the happenings on the forum. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please remember to click the, button to the right if you installed the mod ----> What does 'Marking As Installed' do ? * It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified by us whenever new updates are available. * For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention. * Marking a modification as installed also helps us know how many people are using our work, giving us extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications. We appreciate the support! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Priority support & Product Demos available at: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Translations available @ our forum Support for translations handled by the translator in its respective threads only. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Complete Feature List Lite

Just updated to the latest version of this on vB 4.1.11, and got the following error. We've noticed this error on upgrading other DBTech mods recently as well. Any idea what could be causing it? We don't have this issue with any other mods.

In regards to permissions issue, there is a forum "spy" version of a live feed, similar the the new Activity Stream, that only displays posts in the live feed to folks who have access to that thread.
This looks very cool but without the ability to keep non-subscribed members from viewing private forums / threads, I can't use it. It sounds like the Pro version will only let us determine who can view the feed and who can't - not by thread permissions. Is that correct? Another great mod, however. Thanks. |

In both the Lite and Pro versions, Live Wall will not display threads that are in forums users cannot view, or lack the password for.
If they can view the forum and thread titles, but not thread content - or if they can only view their own threads, then Live Wall will still display the thread. The Pro version lets you flat out exclude forums from showing up, so if one of your forums matched the above exception then you could exclude that forum. Fillip |

Strange. That's not what I am seeing. I have signed in as a user without permissions and completely logged out, yet both times I could still see the private threads posts in the live feed. When I click on the thread link it tells me I don't have permission to read that thread, but I can view the contents of the post in the live feed wall.
Maybe I have something set wrong? ty By the way, I plan to buy a few Pro mods from you after trying the lites. Not only are they all cool, but your support here has been awsome! |

Can you enter the forum permissions manager for that specified forum for guests, and take screenshots of the permission setup? If so, maybe I can get to the bottom of this
