As announced last month, here we are today with the launch of the next generation of iTrader, version 2.5.0.

The tradition continue, we're proud to announce that vbEnhancer is now the official host of iTrader, with a new structure, more addons and a cleaner code for the future versions.

This is just an update, because for 2.5.0 we were focussing in centralizing all the existing addons for the old 2.1 version, and we made it clear that it would be easier with a smooth update for the existing clients and an easy spleen for the new players.

So, what do we get in the box?

All the files are now cleaned and easier to debug, here is the setting page in the vBulletin Options:
  • Gio~logist's Main Page is now integrated fully
  • A new Profile Tab
  • Completely and only compatible with vBulletin 3.8 generation
  • Refurbished templates, with new icons for ranking (positive, negative, neutral)
  • Option in your Profile Settings so you can show that you are selling/buying something
  • Force display of iTrader infos in specific forums
  • Display of iTrader Feedback Score in postbit

The thumbnail attached shows the extensive list of settings you can manage thru the regular path. as you can see, some new features have settings in the bottom of that page, they are good to look at.

And here is the form you see when you submit a new feedback regarding one of the transaction you've been involved in.

all without any template or file edit...

You want to upgrade, or install as new?

Easy, if you have not used any of the addons released on vBulletin.org, you simply have to upload all the new files, overwriting the old ones, and uploadthe product file, allow overwriting the product, so it upgrade to the latest.

If you have used any addon that required template edits, like the old version of Giologist Profile block or his Main Page, or if you used MagnetiCat's Profile Tab, you will need to uninstall these first, and hopefully, we provide all these versions in the Jason's iTrader Archive forum on top of this... (just follow the opposite of the instructions!)

So, that's it... there is not much new instructions, as now the entire engine is self documented... you can always post a question in this forum, so you are answered as soon as needed... but also, what's fun, is that we ask for your requests, suggestions, needs; because we want to make the engine even better for the next version, which will jump to number 3.0 ...

I've turned the iTrader system 'on' through the AdminCP, and gave my User Group (I have a separate User Group just for myself above and beyond the default 'Administrator' group) permission to view, rate, and administrate ratings; all other usergroup permissions have not been turned on yet. When viewing any user profile, the Feedback Score tab appears and their feedback is shown (all zeroes, as this is a new install of iTrader). The iTrader link is shown under the 'Communities' link in the navbar as well. All very normal.

However, the problems start here.

Whenever I click on the iTrader link in the navbar, the feedback score under my user name, or the View Complete Feedback link for any user, I get a "500 Internal Server Error" screen saying that the server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

I get this same error whenever I attempt to access ANY of the six .php files which were uploaded to the root directory of my site.

I know I am not the only person in this discussion thread who has experienced this issue, but seeing as vbenhancer has essentially abandoned all of us with respect to iTrader, can anyone suggest a possible fix for this? Could this be a PHP version issue (my server is running PHP 4.4.9)? Do I need to contact my webhost to request a PHP update?

I have wanted to install the iTrader mod for quite some time but have been putting off doing so due to an obvious lack of support. Now that I have done so, I am encountering EXACTLY what I feared would happen.
It does sound like you might have the files in the wrong location. Did you upload them all at once, or did you try uploading them one at time? One at a time is often a comment mistake. Possible FTP uploaded in the wrong format.

Talk in your back? I'm posting on a public forum. I'm not talking in your back, I'm talking directly at you.

I've fixed the problem with the help of my web host's support personnel. As it turns out, the permissions were set wrong - they were all set to 777. I've chmoded them to 644 and everything is working fine now. I'll agree that it was probably a novice mistake/error, but I didn't change the file permissions prior to (or after) uploading the files to the server so I don't know how they became set to 777. It may very well be a setting in my FTP program which I am unaware of (I use Cyberduck for the Mac OS X). I'll look into it.

Regardless, the problem is fixed now.

No, they were all uploaded to the correct location. It was a permissions issue. All the files had their permissions (automatically...?) set to 777. I changed them to 644 on the advice of my webhost and everything began working properly.

Wasn't whining sir, I was just commenting on the fact that numerous coders seem to start a plugin, then dissapear

actually i did not start that one, i upgraded it to 3.8.x, which is actually working as planned since the first download on more than 900 installs...

the problem with the instructions are not mine... i upgraded the code, the documentation was already missing from the start... right now, i've seen so far that most of the installs are successful, and most of the bugs are related to bad usage, and not bad code... i tagged this script as unsupported, so if you install it and have problems, you can still post your problems on the thread and be answered by generous people like Digital Jedi, who is a great guy btw...

Hi all,

I installed iTrader a short time ago, and with the exception of a file permissions error (which was entirely my fault) I encountred at the beginning, the plug-in has been working fine.

Until now.

I upgraded PHP on my server to v5.3.3 and now, whenever I access any of the itrader.php files (those in the forum root) like itrader_main.php, itrader_detail.php, itrader_report.php, etc... I get the following appearing at the top of the screen:

This didn't happen when the server was running PHP 4.4.9.

From the above error messages, the problem doesn't seem to be related to iTrader (since none of the iTrader files are being referenced) but this only happens when I access itrader.php or any of the itrader_x.php files. The rest of the site seems to be working fine.

Has anyone else run into this issue? If so, can you suggest a fix?

I'm a real novice when it comes to PHP so you'll have to forgive me if this comes off as a stupid question.
