This is an early build of vBXirc.
This is a beta hack, use at your own risk.
Known issues:
[X] At present time, I am not yet filtering templates for replacement urls 100%
Resolved by not having any rules to filter and or replace
[] Smilies options have not been added into the Settings or the chat template
[] There are no usergroup settings at this time.
[] This hack as not yet been installed on any live systems, but my test system worked 99% fine.
very short private beta test
[] pjirc is the only supported java module at this time
There is a way to add 1 additional template at this time.
Planned Ideas / Future Features: [] Add some sort of session tracking to show users are in the chat [] Usergroup permissions [] Smilie options
Some new things in general:
As of 3.0.0, we have moved to the plugin system and only vBulletin 3.5.0. All support for versions before 3.0.0 (vBXirc) and 3.5.0 (vBulletin) hae been discontinued.
Multiple Client support, over the next few months I will be adding more client support as I find them. If you have your own or have one you like and want it added, you can make your own called custom.cht and put it into the inc directory and select the custom option in the ACP Settings. If you want to submit a client, please email vbxirc [at] digitalkore (dot) net, It will be revied and if it can be added it will. The current template is located in inc/pjirc.cht.
I think thats it for now.
The code is atad messy atm as its early/late and I know it works correctly.
Install Instructions
1. Upload the Chat Folder to your forums directory
2. Upload / Import the Product file
3. Configure settings
4. Add a link to the navbar
No firewalls. Standard user errors. I mean, who knows if they have the latest java environment installed? Most of the time when a java app is presented on the web and is more advanced than the current java environment installed, it prompts to update.
Anyhow, this is just one of many constant and random errors some members are getting. I'll check out the port filtering from the null folks. That just may be it. I've seen some really wacky stuff. Unable to Connect: Erroneous nick. I think that one is the strangest. I've logged in as the member and didn't have a problem. Everytime that member logs in he gets that erroneous error. He has to log out of the site and hit the chat as a guest and go from there. I absolutely know it's not an IRC issue.
Unable to Connect: Erroneous nick means that there is something wrong witht their username. What network are you trying to connect to. and what is his username.
AFAIK, Some IRC servers don't allow you to connect using "usernames" with capital letters in.
Quote:
Connecting...
Logging in...
-- *** Looking up your hostname
-- *** Checking Ident
-- *** Got ident response
-- *** Found your hostname
Your username is invalid.
Connect with your real username, in lowercase.
If your mail address were foo@bar.com, your username would be foo.
Error : Closing Link: Admin by Prothid.CA.US.GameSurge.net (USER: Bad username)
Disconnected from irc.gamesurge.net
So before I try to install this will it be portable to 3.6 and do I need pjirc as well? I've read through this but I'm confused. I'm not sure where to start
