Force Users to Read a Thread

About this hack:
This hack allows you to set a thread as 'must read' by your members. Right now, if you make a post and want all your members to read it, you have no way of enforcing it. This hack will give an error message similar to the one you get when you need to change you password, saying that the admins want you to read a certain thread before they continue using the forum.

Once a user reads a thread, they wont be bugged to read it again.

You can set all usergroups or just certain onces that must read a thread.

You can set to site wide or just some forums.

Option to Force Guests

This hack added one query to every page on your forum a member goes to.

i got this to work but the only way is i cant pick a specific thread location , i USE SITE WIDE for everything , for mulitple user groups just hold down the ctrl key n select an many user groups as you want . this is only for any noobs like me that dont know much . I try , as you can see lol . fail to me and THANK YOU TO THE CODER

im running 4.1.0 and when I used another account to log in it didnt force me to read either??

not working after upgraded to 4.1.2

works for me on 4.1.2 , I suggest you reinstall when you upgrade and then reset the each of your force page reads

because many people use vbseo and froum link not default , and dont have thread id

It works fine technically, but it shows as if the archive was active and not the default template. After clicking on "here" to see the thread the template is normal again. On occasion the "bug" does not appear and i see the message "The administrators want you to view a thread before you continue to browse the forum. same problem here, but only when enabling force read thread for GUESTS.

Any ideas?

This is a great tool. It seems like when I post an announcement or notice people don't see it. They don't have any choice with this.
