DownloadsII

DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.

It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.



Instructions & Support

Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions.
It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions.

Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod!

You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt).

Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it.

Help!!! I can't upload large files??

This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home.

Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values.
Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system).

Any idea what this means?

Could not find phrase 'downloads_daily_download_amount_exceeded'.

It comes up for me and my members when I click download file.

You've set the "This is the maximum MB that a user can download in one day." and "This is the maximum number of files that a user can download in one day." usergroup permissions to 0. Then you can't download anything of course

I fixed the missing phrase error for next release.

AHA...!!

When I add new user groups for my rank images it set it to 0 instead of -1. I changed them to -1 and it works a treat. Thankyou.

Just to let you know

I have an admin category that is only available for admins. So I have that category as exclude on all usergroups.

Suprisingly items uploaded to that admin category still show up in most popular and latest files to users with no access to include unregistered users.

If an unregistered user clicks on the file they get this nasty database error and I get emailed this:

Thanks for reporting. It's on my todo list now
Though the fact that it's in the side column isn't a bug. Those items are cached and don't use any usergroup permissions because of this.

Just like wildweaselmi's problem.

I have an admin category that is only available for admins. So I have that category as exclude on all usergroups.

Users can't download any file! They can see them but they cant' download.

When I give them access to all categories, including the hidden one, the mod works perfectly.
