How is talking about selling it any different than selling it? And once again, I never said it was wrong, I said I thought it was wrong. Go reread the TWO posts I made in the other thread and explain to me how I was the one bashing john, at ALL, ANYWHERE.
Personally, I would have nothing against john if he released the hack for free, even without support. Hell, I suggested that same thing to him somewhere in this thread (I think around page 55).
What ticks me off is that he is making money off of a hack that is not advanced or ground breaking, advertising that hack here, and acting like there is nothing wrong with it.
If what I heard about Overgrow's Karma hack is true, I can only wish him the best for selling it.

It may not be super advanced but it is original, unlike most (notice I said MOST) new hacks released here.

First of all, I'm all grown up.
Secondly, I do know the value of money. I have a job, and I try to earn money by means of webdesign.
I will not go to a homeless shelter and try to sell food there though. The people there expect the food to be free, and that's how it should be.
Just in the same way, people at vB.org expect their hacks to be free. Granted there are exceptions, and if the hack is of supreme quality and the price is fair, most wouldn't mind paying.
Perhaps you shouldn't try assessing people based on their opinions.
I think John did a great job and I have no problem donating to his cause, either for this hack or his next. I don't mind paying for people's time and effort. There are request on pixeljunction and on vbulletin.com for freelancers all the time.
It is up to the author to make it public domain or not.

Thanks again.
I know. People bashed John until he just took it down. Ungreatful bastards.
