his 'mod' is nothing except a stolen code made to work with joomla - if it was free then it would be perfectly ok - but he is selling someone elses work

I took my mod down. 90% of the code I posted (including the digits) is from the commercial addon. All I did was to adapt it to the vbulletin database.

I have been here since 2001 and I watched many talented coders disappeared thanks to parasites morons like you. And I am about to join their ranks.

Who will be the looser after all of us is gone? Certainly not me! I don't code for glory or for money. I am doing it just for fun and don't mind sharing.

those guys and their mod is not 'based' on moofx it IS moofx and that site I posted up

u just ask urself the question: how would u feel if u wrote a code free and released it under GPL free and then someone comes along, adapts it for usage with vB or joomla and then starts selling it.

It is morally incorrect.
That is the point I am trying to make and you just dont get it.
I dont support piracy at all but I am trying to make an important point here - that code released under GPL is free for usage but not for sale without the premission of the author which they do not have

I stand on my point because I believe in it and it makes me angry to see that someone elses work gets sold on a site with no credit given to them at all.

and thats the last post ill make cos arguing with u is useless.
I dont care if I get banned for standing up for what is RIGHT and defending someone elses code aginst leeches who stole it and started selling it!

So if you so sure of this, why don't you just report it to that other site instead of being a jackass? If it's not from him and he put his copyrights, that's serious. Equally serious for you to remove the evidence and try to make it pass for someone's else.

if u read on the mod site someone did face them with BOTH violations:
-stealing dynamic drive scripts
-stealing moofx and selling it

they posted a screenshot of the emails explaining that dynamic drive said 'its ok for them to use their scripts as donation ware' but the other people did not respond.

so how come the decided to go ahead with the realaese?

if it really is their code which they are selling then I challenge u to remove the mooFX files form it and see if the slide show works or not.

and peace to u - honestly if i have caused u anger and hurt my apologies, I never meant to fight with u - it all started out because I was truly TRULY shocked that those guys were selling scripts which are released under GPL license.

and I still truly believe what they are doing is wrong - but that is where we differ in our opinions and I guess it will stay that way.

So for the sake of preserving peace in the vB community I will stop arguing (even though I know ill be tempted to reply)
