This hack will allow users to define a list of keywords. If a new THREAD is posted where the title or message contains any of these keywords, they will be notified via email, PM, or both with a link to the thread.

Can be set on a usergroup basis.

This only sends alerts on new threads, not replies to threads.

2 template file edits.

Even as beta, it should work fine if you just restrict it to the administrator user group so only you and your staff can test it out.

2- Notification go both ways .. pm or/and email .

Hello,

Any chance you could post some instructions on how to put this extension to use? I've got it installed...now what? As an admin, I'd like to set everyone up who resides in a specific user group to somehow get "all new threads" as well.

I noticed that a few people around here are looking for a way to have specific groups receive an email notification every time there is a new thread. This could be a great way to make that happen.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

M

Go to your User CP, see the link for "Post Notification Setup".

As for getting an email whenever something is posted to a forum, this is already a feature of Vbulletin. Go to the forum in question, click forum tools, then click subscribe.

Built in, though, the only option are daily or weekly digests.

This hack lets you get instant emails:

...and AFAIK it's not based on usergroup permissions.
