Request: Inline bibliographical references
Would like to request a means of allowing users to easily cite sources in a discussion, without overly cluttering the post area. I envision a small text field below the message composition field. Users would list a few sources there (following a certain formatting guideline) as an option. (Something like the attached).
When the message is posted, I envision a small DHTML button link somewhere in the post titled "Sources"; clicking on this would popup a list of the sources the user listed. I don't have time to illustrate the latter part of this but I'll do so later this weekend. This ultimately saves space, for more scholarly style message boards like mine - people are constantly challenged by listing their sources in a non-intrusive and easy-on-the-eyes manner, so often don't. |
