Another simple template mod to hide "Edit By ..." note for superadmin or admin group. No file hack required, just add one simple conditional to your postbit template to do the trick.

Open postbit(_legacy),

FIND:

		<if condition="$show['postedited']">

REPLACE WITH:

		<if condition="$show['postedited'] AND ($post[userid] != 1)">

<!-- That's it! -->


If you want to hide "Edit By ..." note for the whole group, replace ($post[userid] != 1) with
!is_member_of($post[usergroupid],6)
where 6 is groupid which you want to hide editby notes, and you should adjust it to your own.

Darn, i didn't see that option when I last checked vBulletin Settings Options.

Well, i guess this mod is still useful if someone want to limit hiding "Edit By ... " note to one individual, say super-admin. :glasses:

sometimes even when you turn off show edited by you want to put a reason that will show why you modified a post
this will break that ability

ex: last edited by Administrator Reason: removed warez link - dont post it again!!!!

You can set who triggers an "edited by" message per group. So you could hide it for super admins, but still allow it to show for all others. Like someone mentioned above, this also breaks the ability to add an edit reason.
