How can i get this work on vB3.5

Hello,

I have a modification a friend is working on. We have the mod working on IPB, PHPBB, and <insert news software>, and we would like to get this same modification working with Vb.

The mod handles links inside topics through a bbcode replacement. All of this is working fine.

The problem is the mod uses a form for some of the javascript bits (there are checkboxes to determine which links you wish to download, for example) however when you are logged in as an Administrator or a Moderator of the particular forum the topic was posted in, it seems that VB opens a form at the beginning of the topic and doesn't close it until the end of the topic.

Is there a way to work around this form being open? Can I close the form safely before the actual posts are generated, and then just open a new one with a different name after the posts are generated, or will this cause javascript problems with VB?

Any form inserted inside the thread, will cause the inline moderation of vB3.5 to break.

That's exactly what the problem is....and it causes MY form not to work at all See with html, you can do this no problem

<b><i>This text is bold AND italic</i></b>

You can nest SOME tags. But you CAN'T do this

<form...>this is some stuff inside a form<form...>I've opened a second form</form></form>

That's completely invalid and causes both forms not to work properly.

is there any trick or idea how can i use form inside a form ? :surprised:

Not that i know of, every new <form> tag will cause an implicit </form> to be inserted. Maybe something with frames.
