Hacks shouldn't be affected. Template modification may since templates will be edited.

If you install a skin, it will use a new set of templates and hence anything you've added to the hacks via the templates will not show on the new one. The ACP tells you what template files you've edited, so its your job to go through and add the code to the new templates.

If the skin you're installing is just a colour change and nothing changed to the templates, it can be a child style to the current set of templates you're using.

This is also a support thread, so moving to General Mod Questions.

Cheers for that, im assuming that in the templates area the templates ive edited are showed in red?? and if i do get a new skin i'll have to go back to those sections to add the modifications??

Ok do you think it will be ok if i had made a copy of the old modified templates and then pasted them over the new templates sections, would that be alright or would i need to put in the hacks individually?

Correct, you'll have to go back and add the modifcation code that was inserted into the templates.

Old modified templates? What do you mean, from your old style?

Basically for e.g. if i go to my templates now i.e. navbar, i copy and paste and keep a record of it..., i then install the new template go into navbar and then overwrite that with what i had saved from my old template..., would that be ok or not??

Also one last thing...., do you think with the right resources i would be able to modify this deafult template i have? like change the buttons and replace it with my own? change teble colours etc etc..., is this in the vb manual?? or maybe could you direct me somewhere which will help me modify my current template?

Cheers

No, you cannot do that as it defeats the purpose of adding a new style....
