Christmas Time (Fluid) Details »» | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
Hi
This was a request, so I wrote this to fill that request, it contain a very different header than the fixed version, so that the forum can float 100% of the screen width, well not 100%, 98% it can only be that wide to allow all browsers to support 800X600! I wish all browsers did everything the same way but they don't! This is Christmas Time (Fluid) / vB 3X (tested on vB 3 Gold to 3.0.3) 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional Compliant You can test this style here... http://forum.ya-right.com/index.php?styleid=6 user: test pass: test Notes! 1. If you do not have PhotoShop, and would like me to create your header and navbar image logo and name, I will be glad to do this for you! Just post your request! The request should contain the following! A. Site Name B. button wording you want to use! ( New Topic, New Reply, Closed Topic ) C. navbar wording you want to use! ( Register, Search, User Cp, Links ) I know I said I would have the addon pack done, but I have no time to finish it, and can not get to it right now! After I finish updated the Way Out Blue style (Fluid Version), I will add the christmas bonus pack! start / HEADER TEMPLATE UPDATE (11-11-04, 10:15AM EST) It seems that I do not close a (<td>) in the header template! This can cause problems for some older browsers! Secondly it is bad coding mistake on my part and should be fixed! How to fix.... Open the template 'header' for the Christmas Time style... 1. Go to... -> Styles & Template <- left nav (Admin CP) Open to expand... -> Search in Templates When the Search page opens.... -> enter the following (into the search textarea box) Find... Code:
<td><img src='$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/bbs_null.gif' height='169' width='150' alt='' /></td><else /> Click Find, style manager will open (showing the christmas time header template colored red) Click on that template link -> header When the template opens... -> (go to the bottom and click Find) With the search string highlighted, right click and paste the code below to replace the highlighted text in the header template! Replace with... Code:
</td> <td><img src='$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/bbs_null.gif' height='169' width='150' alt='' /></td><else /> Sorry about this mistake! end / HEADER TEMPLATE UPDATE (11-11-04) Enjoy the style... Take Care everyone... Sonia D. Show Your Support

Excellent Fataqui, thank you for releasing this.
For the header logo. I'm simple Site name Tech-Unity URL http://www.tech-unity.com And well, for the navbar links and icons, you already have a link to home, so... a Link and icon to the Forums themselves would be most appriciated. Thats all I need to get me going, if you dont mind. Thank you again, for the work you put into this. |

This is great, many thanks.
One quick question. On the Forums I am setting this up on I have a chat Link in the old style which is just added to the Nav template and fits in with the text links that are already there nicely. This links to a chat.php file and has a CHAT template that gets included. Where/How do I add a new Gif button and link after I have drawn it up and saved in Photoshop? Have already added the chat template and can call the chat.php file directly and works a treat placing the Xmas header and footer. But now just need to add the graphic button. Regards CLaNZeR |
